Framed in dark brown. 84 x 124cm.
This painting is about sitting surrounded by trees for comfort. In Celtic folklore, trees were believed to be wise elders. Trees were thought to absorb sorrow and return calm. In Japan, old trees are believed to house Kodama, gentle spirits. When someone is grieving, sitting quietly near an ancient tree is said to bring comfort, as the spirit “listens” without judgement.
Acrylic on canvas.
